The Amazonea family

Each traveller that we welcome comes as a guest and leaves as a part of our family.
But how did the adventure start ?
Max
Founder
Passionate about nature, I was born in the city of Manaus and grew up in the jungle. The Amazon rainforest no longer holds any secrets for me, thanks to my father and grandfather who taught me everything. The desire to share my passion with the rest of the world came to me very quickly, and after learning English and gaining experience working in tourism for several years, I decided to launch my own ecotourism agency to allow passionate travelers to discover the Amazon as it is, in complete authenticity and with respect for nature and local communities. A few years later, Magali joined me on the adventure...
With my law degree in hand, I left my native Belgium to join Max's project and contribute to the development of Amazonea. Experienced traveler and nature lover, I provide my good advice and also monitor Amazonea's involvement in the preservation of the Amazon forest. Together with Max and his family, and working exclusively with natives from the region, we built 'Terra Amazonea', a small family lodge integrated into the amazon rainforest, on the banks of the Juma river.

(Y)our home: Terra Amazonea
On the banks of the Juma river, Terra Amazonea is located approximately 150 km southeast of Manaus, on a completely preserved area of 115 hectares.
In the middle of the Amazon rainforest, in a remote and preserved region, our base is small and comfortable, designed to be totally integrated into the forest. Its construction and operation respect environmental limits.
Our accomodation
We have two options for accomodation: in private bungalow or in hammock.
One option is to sleep in a private bungalow, with bathroom and balcony overlooking the Juma river (up to four people per bungalow).
The other option is to sleep in hammocks in our typical hammock cabana, with shared bathrooms.
The cabana is protected by mosquito nets which prevent insects from entering. We also offer individual blankets and additional mosquito nets.
